Personal Safety Program
personal safety

Jersey CUSD 100 will be sponsoring a program for the 5th through 7th grades on Personal Safety.  The program uses activities, role-playing, and group discussions to address this issue.  The following topics will be addressed throughout the program:

  • Safety with Strangers and Friends
  • Personal Boundaries
  • Appropriate and Inappropriate Touching
  • Assertive Response Training
  • Family and Community Support Systems

Our presenter, Jordan Kilpatrick, will be visiting classrooms on April 16th and 17th.  Her program focuses on assertiveness and involves making sure the child will tell someone about abuse if it should occur in his/her life.  If you have questions or concerns regarding this program, please contact the office.

We encourage all children to participate in the personal safety program.  However, parents have the right to exclude their child from the presentation if they deem it necessary.  This must be done in writing to your child’s school.  Parents are invited to observe the presentation if they wish.  Please contact the school if you are interested in observing.

If you DO NOT wish for your child to participate in this program, please sign and return this form.  CLICK HERE for the form.
